[vpnc-devel] VPNC Support

We have been a user of vpnc for quite a number of years and been very happy
with the tool.

As can be seen from the discussion on this list recently, the project seems
somewhat fragmented at this time. In addition some much needed enhancements
(such as full rekeying support) and future functional compatibilities (such
as the new CISCO ASA5500 series VPN devices) are required.

We would hate to see vpnc drift apart into disrepair (disuse). If the right
person/group with the right skills were available to implement the required
enhancements, and get this project back into a merged and maintainable state
(utilizing sourceforge as a repository or some other such site), we would
like to find some funds to sponsor them.

In summary if you think you have the skills and drive to get vpnc back to
where it needs to be (the open source replacement for CISCO's vpn client
software), Please contact me and we will see what we can do.

I would like to get as much feedback from the user community about this.

Our hit list includes:

1. Rekeying support
2. ASA5500 support
3. Multiple tunnel support
4. Sourceforge type implementation
5. Firewalling from remote site
6. Documentation

Thanks,

Ron
