[vpnc-devel] on-demand connect/idle disconnect possible?

Hi all,
I've just started tinkering with vpnc-0.3.3, built from the FreeBSD
ports collection on an amd64 machine running FreeBSD-6-STABLE. I'm
extremely grateful for it's existence. Thanks to those responsible:
it seems to work beautifully.
(Well, it does produce a sequence of:
unknown spi 0
poll: Interrupted system call
log messages, but that doesn't appear to stop it from working.)
What I find that I miss, from the days of PPP-based VPNs, is
that there doesn't seem to be a way to have the link come up on
demand, or disconnect after an idle timeout. Is this possible?
(Perhaps using some firewall fu that I'm not familiar with?)
I'd be happy to just bring it up and leave it up, but apparently
that's frowned-upon, administratively, by the admins of the site
that I need to connect-to.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
--
Andrew
